Working with us, step by step
Our terms in full- 1Tell us the outline
Describe your matter and we route it to the right fee earner. Nothing creates a solicitor and client relationship until we confirm in writing that we can act.
Contact - 2Client care letter and terms
You receive a client care letter naming who handles your matter and the basis of charges, with our Terms and Conditions of Business.
T&Cs s.1.4, s.2.1 - 3Identity checks
We are required to verify your identity: for individuals, a passport and a recent proof of address. A file opening and AML check fee of £60 including VAT applies, plus £20 for third party verification.
T&Cs s.7, s.3.7 - 4Money on account
We normally ask for a payment in advance before work begins, offset against your invoices as the matter proceeds.
T&Cs s.3.11 - 5Work, with regular invoices
Time is recorded in six minute units. Invoices are sent regularly, normally monthly, so cost stays visible throughout.
T&Cs s.3.2, s.3.13 - 6End of your case
We tell you the outcome and anything else you need to do, return your property unless you ask us to store it, and account for any money held.
