Doniel Grunewald is a Senior Consultant at KMT, specialising in Beth Din (Jewish Religious Court) and all aspects of Jewish legal (Halachic) matters. He is also an internationally accredited mediator in civil, commercial, and workplace disputes. In this role his primary objective is to offer pragmatic, cost-effective solutions that prevent disputes from escalating into litigation.

With over two decades of experience in Rabbinical and communal roles, Doniel brings a unique depth of expertise to resolving complex and sensitive issues. At KMT, he provides strategic consultation on Jewish legal matters that intersect with civil law, including disputes related to property, inheritance, matrimonial issues, Charitable Trusts, and business conflicts.

A particular focus of Doniel’s work is Jewish divorce, including cases of Gett refusal—now recognized under UK law as a form of coercive or controlling behaviour (Section 76 of the Serious Crime Act 2015). Given the increasing public awareness of this issue, Doniel offers expert guidance and resolution strategies in this area.

Whether consulting on Jewish legal matters or mediating disputes, Doniel adopts a thorough, holistic approach, helping clients gain a clear understanding of their position, the options available to them, and the most effective path to resolution. He serves as a Toein Rabbani (Beth Din advocate) and provides additional services such as written submissions for Beth Din proceedings and legally binding Halachic arbitration awards. He also assists in negotiations between landlords and tenants, employers and employees, business partners, and family members.
