- About David Ward
David is a solicitor advocate and works in the Commercial department of Karam, Missick & Traube. Having previously been involved at director level in commerce for over 20 years, he enjoys working with people to resolve legal, personal, employee and financial conflicts.
David also specialises in Family Matters. His expertise has enabled him to successfully represent clients in complex, litigious divorce cases.
Bringing to the legal industry a wealth of commercial knowledge he advises on all corporate and commercial needs of business, including Dispute Resolution and Insolvency. A notable High Court case – Manolete v Hayward and Barrett – which David defended, resulted in part of the reaffirming of certain Insolvency Applications.
David is an expert tactician, who firmly believes in negotiation before litigation. Treating clients with respect and compassion enables him to assist his clients’ search for their own solutions and decisions. He is also a Civil and Commercial Mediator (CMC Accredited) and a qualified Commercial Pilot.
In his spare time, David enjoys the gym, boxing, reading books on history, aviation and philately. He is also an avid collector of old letters from British Prime Ministers, totalling around 800-1000 items. In particular, he is a lifelong “fan” of both former British prime ministers Benjamin Disraeli and George Canning and has amassed a collection of around 300 signed documents from the former and around 100 of the latter (apparently the largest collection of Disraeli in private hands in Europe). If you want to engage a conversation with David, just mention “Benjamin Disraeli’, although quite possibly, it will be very one-sided!
